I had to search in google translation.
All to say we were on the same thinking about « musical « .
Actually I thought the flagship CD555 was supported too.
I’m surprised a product in such very very high price range can no longer be serviced and supported. This remind me the same scenario happened for Linn Sondek CD12 owners. (I was one of these myself)
Yes, AFAIK, from the last post on here on the subject, the CD555 is still supported and, while Naim would not recommend any routine service for a CD player that’s operating fine, repair is still possible.
Agree on that. It’s a very underrated player
Probably because most people haven’d heard how the higher Naim CD players can perform.
To echo that my local dealer has one on sale. In the write up they confirm Naim are able to repair and have enough mechanisms for “quite some time”
The new Mission 778CDT CD transport might be a good match, certainly in terms of size, needs a DAC though so perhaps the 778S music streamer to accompany it…….?

That’s why I bought a Marantz 60. The CD player is connected to the Naim DAC.
I much prefer streaming, but, but …
For a bit of fun, I went and rescued my CD5XS from semi-retirement on the rack in the lounge and plugged it into my Nait 50 in my office. Have to say they do make great playmates so, trying to fit them both on the desk, ended up with a level from my Isoblue rack placed over the CD player with Nait on top and, well, hugely addictive.
As said, I much prefer streaming, but, but …

The CD5XS was a lovely machine.
I had mine Flatcapped, it was a joy listen.
Mine was the first piece of Naim gear I bought, along with an original XS amp. It has sentimental as well as sonic value.
