I have been running in my new CD Player, (Atoll CD-200 evo) and listening to a few different interconnects and I was wondering if the highish output (2.65v RMS) from the CD player will overload the preamp on my Nova?, I don’t know much about this but from what I’ve read, sound quality could be compromised.
Naim pre-amps can usually take 7V before overload, although the New Uniti are somewhat different and utilise A-D conversion of analogue inputs and I have no idea what their overload margins are. Therefore, it’s probably better to connect it digitally via one of the s/pdif connections. That way you will only go through one D-A convertor and avoid going through the Nova’s A-D convertor.
