I replaced my CDS3 with a ProJect CD Box RS2 transport. And at the risk of being accused of heresy, I like it more than the CDS3.

Thatās avery nicely balanced sustem you have there. Exercise extreme caution with any āupgradeā as you might well end up with something that sounds different, but no ābetterā and not as musically satisfying, and you will have spent a deal to find that out.
Which dac did you use?
I have a Meridian 200/203 dac. Advice seems to be keep the 200 and change the 203. My feeling is the 200 is over 30 years old. The tray struggles a bit and probably needs recapping. When ypthe laser fails it is likely game over as spairs are difficult to source

Hi Roger, Iāve been looking through your OP and noted your intention of adding a streamer in the future as well as amp upgrading plans. If it were me, and I do realise itās not, Iād seriously consider getting the streamer first and using the DAC in that with your Meridian transport for the time being. If the 200 fails or the upgrade bug bites too hard, replace it with a more modern transport. If you want to stay with Naim an NSS333 would fit the bill nicely or NDX2 and a power supply from the old classic series.
Itās fun spending other peopleās money!

The ProJect transport runs through my NDX2.

I have considered the ndx2 streamer with its power supply and use its dac from a CD transport as streaming will be a part of my system in the future. How does the project transport sound fed into the naim dac?
Roger 60, it sounds great. And as good as the NDX2 sounds with the 555PS, the ProJect transport, through the NDX2 is pretty amazing. I also have ProJectās dedicated power supply for the transport.

I think Naim and Pro-Ject used some of the same designers for their CD players . I would love that CD transport
