CD5 + FLATCAP 2 troubleshooting

Got my hands on a CD5 + Flatcap which I want to connect to my NAC 202/NAP200 setup.

However, I can’t see to power the CD5 via the Flatcap.
Is someone able the clarify the correct cable connection please.

Thanks.

J

Do you have a the 5-pin DIN cable?

Here you go. You’ll need a SNAIC5 cable to link the two units together.

Does the CD5 work ok on its own (link plug fitted) ?

The CD 5 turns on fine on its own via the mains cable.

So if you have them connected together, via a SNAIC5 as per the diagram, does it work ? You still need to power the CD5 from the mains, even with the FC2 connected - the FC2 is only powering the analogue output stage of the CD5.

Cheers James that diagram has sorted it.

Thanks a lot for the help!

That’s good. The CD5 is a fine player, especially when you have the FC2 as well. Enjoy :+1:

Fond memories of my CD5/FC2, hope you get it up and running OK.

Glad you have it sorted. I love my CD5, and having played a few CDs this evening, realise I don’t use it enough! And that’s without FlatCap assistance!
