My cd 5i occasionally skips on certain cd s even new discs.
Any ideas
The puck that holds the cd in place may need replacing might be worth trying that first. Alternatively it may be a problem with the laser. Others more knowledgable than me no doubt will be able to give advice.

It maybe the lens has become a little dirty or the mech is in it’s final days. As for the puck, it’s very unlikely with a CD5i, as it doesn’t wear out like the players of old.

Had the same problem, same player, a few years ago; eventually it wouldn’t play at all. I’d try some ‘cleaning’ as suggested above, but I had to have the laser mech replaced - it’s been good since, rarely used now: NDX is so much more convenient (& better sound).
