Thinking of adding the two together. Coupled with Dali Menuet SE speakers what are your opinions on the marriage please?
Can’t see any downside with that as a spinner.
Cd5si lives here and no complaints. ![]()
Assuming connection is possible with the right cables, I can highly recommend the CD5si as part of an introductory Naim system. I use it with higher level Naim gear and am very satisfied. I would suggest ordering extra pucks, if you have a young child who likes to touch your Naim gear. If the puck is lost, you cannot use the machine. Enjoy. I don’t have an Atom but the CD5si is great with my SN3. The CD5si tends to be underrated on the forum, but I find it really good.
The CD5si will work well with an Atom. They perform at a similar level in the Naim range, and sounded pretty good when I heard them playing at a dealers a while back.
The Dali speakers are great, but I think they would be really bought to life with an amp that has a bit more power than the Atom. They should be fine if you don’t listen too loud and your room isn’t too big.
I think the OP could also benefit from better cables including better speaker cable.
It should be really good. The Atom doesn’t have any Din sockets so you won’t be able to use the Din interconnect that comes with the CD player, and you’ll need to get hold of a decent RCA to RCA cable.
With my SN3, I found the CD5si to favorably showcase better Chord cables.
With a CD5si and an Atom, something like a Clearway would be perfectly adequate.
