CDI transport issues or is it the puck?

Hi c2photo,

It’s no something I have heard of before & I can’t find any specs for min/max temperature of operation, but if you like your home on the warm side, I think it could have an effect.
It will be interesting to hear what happens with the CDI.

Regards
Neil.

@c2photo

Sorry if I haven’t read some of the above posts properly but my CDI finds it difficult to lock on to high track numbers and slips/skips until it either finds the track or gives up.

This was solved by adding a small ball of blu-tack on the opposite side of the puck to the rubber rings. This seems to give the mechanism the grip it needs for the laser to read the disc and the software to control location of the track.

@NeilS got the CDI out and unfortunately there has been no change…so my heat theory is unproven…although since adding the heat shield the CDX has been ok. But need to give it a good workout at the weekend.

That’s a shame, but it was worth a try.
Let’s hope the CDX2 continues to behave itself.

Regards
Neil.
