If I didn’t need a pre amp then I would certainly use the built in one in my rossini as it’s very good, but at the same time I also wouldn’t use a naim power amp with it I would go for a true balanced design as that would work even better.
My rossini sounded great direct into my 500dr, but not quite as good as the 552/500 pair do together, for a few reasons. But the dcs sounds best when the 6 volt out put is used and the digital volume is at 0db, this is impossible to do direct into the 500dr unless you play at extreme levels
