Chord Company releases new product

That would have so much mileage. Add a separate power supply and you have an altered seventh. Then there’s the low frequency speaker, the sub-dominant or the mini-speaker, a.k.a. the diminished. All these little add-ons could be codas etc. So much potential.

This is why I have completely abandoned the brand and refuse to buy anything from them. They must be making 95%+ gross margin off that…it really is insulting to your customer base. I bet they sell a shed load mind you…

I don’t think this is the place to stop the problem even if it exists for some.

I doubt my TT would have an earth noise problem as the Michell HR Power Supply is a “never connected” device/supply so it can’t really get through. The Naim power supplies like Hicap should help too.

I don’t use the house mains wiring to carry Lan signal either.

I try and keep an open mind to new stuff and ideas but this one is very challenging.

When I read that all I could think of was the lyrics from Hallelujah

“… It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor falls, the major lifts
The baffled king composing Hallelujah”

Au contraire Blackadder. I do understand- surely if incoming electrical noise is genuinely an issue that affects sound quality (as opposed to theory) then everyone would be offering a filter product? In fact a simple diode would suffice and they cost pence….

Surely a dedicated mains supply would do more for much less ?

If I’m reading this right (rare perhaps  ), the issue is having a ‘clean’ earthing arrangement, which many may struggle with given wiring reg’s and methods of supply/earthing. If you are fortunate to have a dedicated earthing arrangement for your hi-fi kit, I’m unclear how this product will offer benefits?

Think of the money I’m saving by running a Rega without a dedicated ground cable!

Far too cheap, they could have looked at Linn and charged triple that, mind you its not a piece of wood its metal. :man_shrugging:

This one is far cheaper and easy to empty when full. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Judging by the responses, Chord probably won’t sell that many of this product…:innocent:

Back in the day, I could get a LP12/Grace/Supex/12/120/Kans for the price of 1000 UKP.
And that system boogied all day and night.
Yes, inflation is unavoidable…but REALLY???
