Chord Dave question

I am aware that this is a Naim forum, but does anyone know if Chord Dave provides the signal earth connection that a Naim amplifier needs?

I checked with Chord and they said yes, but not sure if this means that Dave has an IEC and is earthed for mains, as opposed to the signal earth also being connected and providing a 0V reference that Naim amps require?

Looks like you own a Dave, do you not have a manual? Why the sudden questions, are you switching preamps Analog?

I don’t know at the moment

Just trying out different scenarios at home

I haven’t given it a thought, but pretty certain there’s nothing in manual or settings. As for the connection, you could easily check by unplugging mains cable from wall and using a multimeter to check resistance from mains plug earth pin to one of the RCA output visible gold outer concentric surface or central pin socket of XLR outlets. I’m sure you don’t need telling, but for anyone reading who doesn’t know, virtually zero resistance would indicate that signal ground is indeed connected to earth ground.

If you don’t have a multimeter let me know and I can do

I don’t have a multimeter.. it would be very helpful to know once you do it

Thank you

Hi @Analogmusic, I can confirm that on my Dave RCA signal ground is connected to mains earth.
