The Chord cable coming from the full Naim 500 series fires our Dynadio Temptation. Once more, we are facing fractures in the cable wrapping down to the bare wire at the cable end to the loud speakers. Quite annoying. Thinking of duct tape on a EURk 13 cable pair. Are there alternatives?
Electrical insulation tape, or self amalgamating tape. Or get them reterminated by a Chord dealer.
Chord should sort this, they rob you blind with the cost of their products, don’t they include a warranty?
Hi,
I see you only joined the Forum a few hours ago and that this is your first post.
It seems unusual that you’ve got this type of problem where the various layers of the cable have split all way down to the copper and that this is not the first time it has happened. Also, are you sure it’s a genuine Chord cable as, to my knowledge, they haven’t made a Sarum Super Aray speaker cable. They made Sarum cable and replaced that with Sarum T. Please would you post a photo of the affected cable so we can see.
My experience of Chord is that they are more than helpful when it comes to repairs so I’d contact your dealer and let them take up the matter with Chord, I’m sure they would sort it out for you.
If you want alternatives, there aren’t many that come close from a sound quality perspective but if you do a search here you’ll find dozens.
Good luck!
I’d pass them back to Chord Cables they charge enough for decoration.
