Cinema Movie Review

We went to see it last night. As you say, Keiran Culkin steals the show and pretty much dominates throughout. Short and (bitter) sweet.

I absolutely love films that come in at 90 mins - if only there were more

Although the next film I’m planning to see is The Brutalist which comes in at almost 3 1/2 hours🙄

The Brutalist was my first choice but we couldn’t find a showing locally that suited everybody’s timings. Yes, the 3 1/2 hour length was also somewhat forbidding…

Saw this at the local cinema on Friday evening which also has a great sound system… absolutely loved it… probably go and watch again. I thought Timothée Chalamet gave a great performance.

Yes definitely worth another screening, I missed some of what I thought of as mumbled conversations, but that’s probably my hearing!
Will invest in a Blu-ray when released.

Oh dear… luckily no such issues at my local cinema… but yes there is some mumbled dialogue… the music is available to stream or buy… listening on Tidal right now… ok not the real thing… but Chalamet is rather good.

I went to see the latest Mike Leigh film ‘Hard Truths’ yesterday. Not an easy watch but utterly brilliant - he really is one of the UK’s finest film directors. Marianne Jean-Baptiste is outstanding as Pansy (who is probably Leigh’s angriest character since David Thewlis’ turn as Johnny in Naked). Full of humanity as you would expect
