right, but the button method might be all it takes to get going. That was the case for me. My two refurb 2960s didn’t work out of the box, but the mode button reset resolved it. I subsequently got a cable and used the CLI but it wasn’t necessary.
It all depends on the state of the switch, but the CLI might not be necessary.
I used the uplink port (ie 2nd image) to connect to my router and used ports 1-8 for Streamer, NAS, etc on my earlier model Catalyst 2960C 8TC L (green) and my new Catalyst 2960C 8TC S and had no issues. I didn’t realize you could use all the 1-8 ports interchangeably. Thanks for the info.
