My apartment has a weird electrical system. Instead of alimenting power from single phase, I have 220V double phase, 110V from negative and positive lines. The grounding is ok though. I am not sure how clean the power is as well. Which power gear should I add? I am considering power regerenators from PS Audio, or isotek sigma. But I am not sure especially considering how sensitive are Naim products to power. My system is as below
What makes you think your current mains setup has a problem that needs solving? If you aren’t sure if the power is clean, it’s going to be difficult for anyone else in make any recommendations.
The humm on my hicap dr is really high. I am hearing it during night sessions from my listening position. I put an ifi dc defender but nothing changed. I am also using a power strip from Audioquest. Powerhouse 6
I think what you should look for is an electrician! In my limited understanding, if you’re seeing 110V x 2 rather than just 220V you already have a balanced supply, so you need to be careful what you connect to it.
My thoughts exactly. There is no way the OP should be seeing 110v on both live and neutral on any supply to his property. An electrician should be able to sort this out.
A “balanced” power supply is something you add to the mains after it enters your property.
Is it possible he somehow has a split single phase 240V electrical system, like we have here in the US, but with the neutral just wired as safety ground? Might explain the buzzing… Also sounds wildly unsafe but I’m not an EU electrician.
Over here in Belgium, several (older) houses, including mine, are using a strange 3 x 230 V three-phase system, where the voltage difference between each phase wire is 230 V and there is no neutral conductor.
Phase to earth is ~130V in this case and each phase is 120 degrees apart. This is different to balanced power where the two phases are 180 degrees apart (and phase to earth would be ~115V).
