Thanks - is that generally something that dealers will offer?

Thanks yes I’m definitely going to wait - only another couple of weeks! For one thing I need to see where I’m at budget wise once all the tradespeople have been paid. I do love the research part, I’ve been at it for months so looking forward now to going for some demos at local stores

Absolutely! Where are you based?

And just to show that the Proacs and Atom can work very well on shelves, this was my set up when I had them

Nice! I’m in West Sussex, uk

Neat Iotas work well on shelves or can be attached to wall brackets if that’s helpful. They were designed, I think, to accompany all-in-ones like the UnitiQute, the Atom’s predecessor and the recently introduced Mk 2 versions sounded really good when I heard them at this year’s NorthWest Audio Show.

Thanks Roger I’ll take a look / listen to these

My Uniti Atom is paired with Guru Q10 speakers. I love the combination very much and the Gurus can be placed very close to the wall. I even think that they perform better when they are very close to the wall …

I wondered about Iotas but if they are to be sited 5 ft up the sloped tweeter panel might direct the sound a bit higher (ie too high)? Have to try them in-situ I think.

Miy Mk1 Iotas are at 4ft measured to the bottom of the cabinets and angled slightly down. If they’re going to be placed on top of cabinets, it should be possible to angle them with a bit of ingenuity but I rather doubt that will be necessary.

There’ll inevitably be some sonic compromises in a kitchen.

Yes 2nd hand they will be unsafe and rubbish when untouched.

I had mine fully restored , there is a specialist in NL, by former staff of the Royd distributor.

Not cheap, but now absolutely brilliant with older Naim gear.

Uploading: IMG_9719.jpeg… thought it might help to give a picture of the actual space. Very much appreciating all the advice! The picture is taken from where cook and later DJ would be standing - c5m from the speakers. I have had an audio cable run from the kitchen Ā“peninsula’ into the left hand cabinet so I can feed my dj kit into the Atom.

I’m thinking also with the side walls so close a little toeing in would be beneficial.

You saved me typing that.

We’ve got a biggish kitchen and got a Muso Qb sitting in the corner. Sounds great at all volumes and really fills the space. Also run my Pioneer CDJs and mixer into it through the rear jack port. Use Qobuz connect through it most of the time and the radio in the morning. Also multi room connection to my Atom in the adjacent lounge. Love this chunky box
