Concerts planned for 2022

Although there’s a “where have you been” topic, I can’t see one for concerts you have in mind for this year, so here goes:

July 24th. at York Barbican … … … George Thorogood and the Destroyers … … … “One, Two, Three, and Awaaaay We Go!” … … … “How sweeeet it is”

Hell, yeah.

Queen with Adam Lambert 12 June Birmingham.

It was to be a surprise big Birthday treat for Mrs R. The concert was meant to be held two years earlier but has been pushed back twice. Hopefully this year things are more promising.

Alt-J in April I think and Tears for Fears / Alison Moyet in July, just saw The Chameleons.

Think Floyd in Radlett somepoint before April from memory, they are actually pretty damned good.

Supergrass - Villa Marina, Douglas, Isle of Man - June 2022.

This was postponed from last year:

The TT is supposed to be going ahead this year, so the gig should take place, too.

John Smith in Bath in April
Jon Boden Ex Bellowhead at Street, Somerset also April
The ABBA thing in London in June, more of an experince than a gig I suspect (I’ll await the howls of derision)
Glastonbury (Sunday only) end of June

Suzanne Vega at Liverpool Philharmonic tomorrow.
Last saw her at Albert Hall in 1986 I think, so looking forward to it.

Excellent support.from a guy called John Smith, who I saw in a church hall in Chester a couple years back, and supporting Richard Thompson a good few years prior to that

In no particular order the gigs I have lined up for this year so far are:

Altered Images
The Delines
Echo & The Bunnymen
Keane
Lloyd Cole
Marc Almond
The Proclaimers
Robert Cray
Simple Minds
Texas
The Cure
The War On Drugs
Tiny Magnetic Pets

No doubt I’ll add to that as the year goes on

Only one confirmed:
The Delines on the 19th, Union Chapel.

An intention and a couple of hopes:

Any Ese and The Vooduu People gig I can get to.

Hoping that Laurie Anderson may come back to London after the cancelled show.

Would love to see Aldous Harding too.

And some opera and classical…been too long.

Kokoroko @ the Concord 2 in Brighton April 4th. Am really looking forward to seeing Kokoroko even though it’s not my favourite venue because of where it is, the lay out and the acoustics are not great but it’s just that venue where most bands I want to see play.
