Concerts planned for 2025

Of possible interest to Prefab Sprout fans? I just booked some tickets to see Martin McAloon at the jazz cafe in London on 20/12. The blurb suggests a night of celebration of the Steve McQueen album (40 years old now). I strongly suspect that there is no chance of a sighting of his brother Paddy, but I seem to remember the event carries a recommendation from the halibut who experienced it some months ago.

Tide Lines , Sunderland Old Fire Station this month

Amy Macdonald , Sheffield, November

CMAT rearranged to a Tuesday in November, which is fine but also the day after mbv and barely a week before King Princess. Not sure my ears, even with ear plugs, will make it through gigs on consecutive nights so some thinking to be done.

The Rifles, Omeara London
The Rifles, IofW
Jake Bugg, Coventry Cathedral
Oasis, Wembley
Richard Hawley, Kingston Rose Theatre
Radiohead, Denmark
Kraftwerk , Netherlands (TBC)
Suzanne Vega, Birmingham Symphony Hall
The Enemy, HMV Coventry
The Rifles, 100 Club

It’ll be January 2026 (pre Christmas date we could go is fully booked) but…

Turandot
Royal Opera House
Covent Garden

The opera that held me spellbound/converted me when I saw a late-night performance on TV quite a few years ago (way before Nessun became a ‘thing’). Have seen a few Puccinis live since, but never this one.
Can’t wait!

Orchestra Baobab - The Barbican London Sunday 30th November, managed to book up late last week when some returns must have come back in.

GoGo Penguin + Daudi Matsiko - Barbican London Wednesday 3rd December.

Bill Frisell Trio - Cadogan Hall Thursday 23rd April 26 NB this has been rescheduled from Friday 21 November if anyone else has not seen on the website which I had, but today at lunch time a very nice lady from Cadogan Hall rang up to let Mrs P and I know!

Richard

Thanks for the notification on the Frisell concert. Had ticket but wasn’t aware of the reschedule. Looks like he has perforated an eardrum.

Take a memory foam rowing pillow
