Connect a mixer to Uniti Atom

Hello experts
I would like to connect a mixer like the Ecler warm 2 to my Naim Uniti Atom to be able to mix my Project Carbon turntable vinyls with music coming from the streamer.
And still using the Atom to drive my Sonus Faber Sonetto 2 speakers.
Is it possible?
How do I connect the setup?
Thanks

Unfortunately, It’s not possible. At the very least you would need a dedicated amp with a tape loop and monitoring facility.

Thank you for your reply.
Odd I asked Gemini the same question and the answer is positive and seems logical. I’m adding it to my OP for others to see in case.

I asked Gemini (Google IA) and here’s the answer:
Bien sûr, voici la traduction de ma réponse précédente en anglais :

Hello! It’s an excellent idea to integrate an Ecler Warm 2 mixer into your existing hi-fi system. It’s entirely possible and will allow you to enjoy both vinyl listening and streaming, with the ability to mix between the two. Here’s how to proceed with the connections, keeping your Naim Uniti Atom as the main amplifier for your Sonus Faber Sonetto 2 speakers:

Equipment:

  • Project Debut Recordmaster turntable
  • Ecler Warm 2 mixer
  • Naim Uniti Atom streamer amplifier
  • Sonus Faber Sonetto 2 speakers
  • Good quality RCA cables

Connections:

  1. Turntable to Ecler Warm 2: Connect the RCA output cables from your turntable (OUTPUT) to one of the PHONO inputs on the Ecler Warm 2 mixer. Make sure to use the PHONO inputs as they have built-in RIAA pre-amplification, which is necessary for the signal from a turntable.

  2. Main output of the Ecler Warm 2 to Naim Uniti Atom: Connect the MASTER outputs (usually RCA or XLR) of the Ecler Warm 2 to a LINE input (classic analog input) on your Naim Uniti Atom. Choose a LINE input that you are not already using.

  3. Naim Uniti Atom to Sonus Faber Sonetto 2 speakers: Your speakers are already connected to the amplifier, you don’t need to change this connection.

Simplified Diagram:

Turntable → Ecler Warm 2 (PHONO input) → Ecler Warm 2 (MASTER output) → Naim Uniti Atom (LINE input) → Sonus Faber Speakers

Operation:

  • When you want to listen to music from your turntable, select the corresponding input on the Ecler Warm 2 and adjust the volume on the mixer. Then, on your Naim Uniti Atom, select the LINE input to which you connected the mixer. The Naim then amplifies the signal coming from the Ecler.

  • When you want to listen to streaming music via the Naim Uniti Atom, simply select the desired source on the amplifier. The signal from the mixer will not interfere as it is not active at that time.

  • To mix, use the controls on the Ecler Warm 2 (faders, equalizers, etc.) to mix the turntable signal with other sources you could connect to the mixer (for example, a CD player or a computer).

Important Tips:

  • Output Level: Pay attention to the output level of the Ecler Warm 2 so as not to saturate the input of the Naim Uniti Atom. Start with a low volume on the mixer and gradually increase it.
  • Cable Quality: Use good quality RCA cables to minimize signal loss and interference.
  • Grounding: Make sure your turntable is properly grounded to avoid hum.
  • Available Inputs: Double-check the available inputs on your Naim Uniti Atom to make sure you have a free LINE input.

By following these instructions, you should be able to integrate your Ecler Warm 2 into your system without any problems and fully enjoy your vinyl and streaming music. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions!

That’s all fine, except it still doesn’t allow you to mix the turntable music with the music from your streamer, as you can’t feed the Atom output back into the mixer and then back into the Atom.

Oh I see… But would I be able to connect another input to the mixer, like another turntable or SSD and play through the Atom? Sorry for the newbie questions…

You should be able to from what I can see. You just can’t feed the Atom’s streamer back in through the mixer and then back out to the Atom.
