Connecting IPad to 82 via BT or wireless

Hallo. I’d like to stream music via my iPad or iPhone, to my 82. I guess there should be on the market some device able to do that. Furthermore, it should be plugged indo one of DIN Naim input of the 82.
Any hint or suggestions?
Thank you all
Have a nice day
Andrea

Sounds like need a streamer! Naim make them, as do lots and lots of other brands at any price you can think of.

If you want a simple device for Bluetooth that actually sounds pretty good considering how cheap it is, look for a Pure Jongo A2. These can be picked up off eBay for anywhere between £10-20 and work really well and even sound half decent, which is frankly remarkable considering. You can connect directly to the NAC82 via the analogue output (using the Jongo’s own internal DAC) via an interconnect. If you have a DAC you could also connect to that digitally.

Or you could get an Apple Airport express (available of similar amount secondhand on the usual places) and use Airplay. The AE is does need a wireless network, whereas the Jongo doesn’t, which can ben an advantage in certain circumstances. Again, you can connect digitally to a DAC if you want to improve sound.

Otherwise, the best sounding solution is a hifi streamer (preferably a Naim one!) and will allow you to connect wirelessly via Apple airplay.

I used an Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt for a while before getting my ND5 XS2.
Excellent little product that definitely outperforms its price and comes with tails for USB etc if I remember correctly.
My brother has mine now, so I can’t check.

Thank you. No, I don’t have a dac, just to be clear, and i do have WiFi at home, so it seems the path for me to follow at present would be Jongo, or AE. I’ll give it a look

I do have the cobalt, and I can use it via cable connect, but, as I said, I’d like to go BT, thanks anyway

Thank you. At present I prefer not to go that way.

Yeah, sorry that was my mistake. Definitely need to spend an extra moment reading the title of a thread… :man_shrugging:t4: :man_facepalming:t4: :joy:

Never mind, it happens all the time

In fact, there is something that id like to share with you, as a former user of cobalt.
At present I’m connecting it to iPad and system via an apple device, able to let me keep ipad on charge while at the same time connecting to cobalt. Now, after a couple of songs or less, abruptly music gets disconnected, and iPad is not in charge any more. To make it charge again, I have to unplug e replug it. Weird, have you have experienced anything like that?

Andrea, I only ever used mine from my Mac I’m afraid, so I never had any issues with a mobile device. That particular problem never occurred on my MAC either.
Sorry I can’t offer any assistance, maybe one of the other members can offer some advice.

Perhaps you could clarify what you are trying to achieve here? You say you want something to connect to a NAC82. Assuming you have a system of comparable sound quality, a digital source that was a good match would be something like an NDX2 as a bare minimum.
If you want something for lower quality background listening there are options at many different prices, right down to just a few pounds.

Clue is in the title.

Not much of a clue though, is it. People tend to use such terms loosely, and sometimes without even understanding what they mean, or what the implications are for reliability or sound quality.

Thank you !!!

System is: 160, 82, Scap, Kan. At present i play music via iPad connected to 82 by cable. It’s a bit akward. Wireless connection would be more practical. That’s all

Look at the Eve Play, it would enable you to stream via Airplay and its a current device.
