Sounds got me like the SN3 likes RCAs. My main amp prefers grey DIN. I have tried Chord, CA, GAC, Cheapo and Van Damme RCAs and the difference was obvious for both NDX and NDS. To be fair the only one that was awful was the GAC and that has now gone in the bin. Interestingly my 2nd system Nait5si prefers DIN for the ND5XS but Van Damme RCAs sounds awesome for the phono preamp. It doesn’t take much effort to try both.
I was switching between din and rca in the app each time I swapped cables.
I’m going to try the stock cable today.
All else being the same, i.e. the same interconnect fitted either with a DIN or RCA Phonos, the former should be superior.
This seems relevant from the SN3 manual:
“Note: Where an input has DIN and phono socket options only one should be connected at any one time.”
I’m guessing that if DIN and RCA analogue outputs are selectable on the NDX2, only one set of outputs should be selected.
The results are the same whether one is connected or both and obviously both at the same time would be rather silly.
Either selected through the device or manually changed same result.
