He should get a discount.
I happen to know that he did already.

I had a non-DR HiCap which I used with an SN1 (different beast from SN2 and 3). When the DR version of the HC came out I had mine upgraded by Naim and that was the best VFM I ever got from a Naim purchase. It removed a certain muddiness and just gave more clarity annd insight into the performance. I heard something similar comparing 250DR with the non-DR version.
Roger
brilliant thread and a journey with almost. an ending.
one of my systems is in replacement and am looking to go SN3 ND5XS2 initially, relocating my NN50 to my study..
Interested in the SN3 reports coming back from LA to the Scottish Tundra !
Absolutely, I’ll make certain to offer up some commentary on what I experience with the new setup. I’m just awaiting the NDX2 now - end of December, then I’ll begin my listening journey in earnest. Will keep you posted though.
Dan
As I wait for the NDX2 to arrive, I’ve been pondering other aspects of my setup. Whilst I plan to take advantage of the superior streaming capabilities of the unit - compared to the limited functionality of my current NDX. I’ll also be hardwiring my Synology NAS. Is there any merit in upgrading my cables, by adding in something like a Purist CAT 7 cable - with its increased bandwidth and shielding? Or is this just overkill?
Dan
I am quite happy with my ‘Blue Jeans Cable Bonded Pair Cat 6a Ethernet Cable.’
Thanks for the tip - will investigate further. ![]()
Streaming does not need any bandwidth beyond Cat5e. A Blue Jeans Cable Cat6 ethernet patch cord for $20 or so is more than enough to handle streaming the highest resolution audio.
Sounds good to me - the last thing I want to do, is drop any significant amount of money on an exotic ethernet cable! ![]()
I use the Blue Jeans standard Cat5 cable between my **Router ** and NDX2 with great performance to my ear. EDITED
Intrigued how that is possible?
Opps sorry my error

So, this is a little leftfield - but really just an extension of my recent system amendments. I now have some components I’m looking to move on to new homes. Obviously, I’m not attempting to drum up any sales interest here. It’s more about streamlining the process and adding in some efficiencies really.
As I moved to California from the UK, I will most likely find buyers there; as all the units are 240V. Calculating the combination of shipping and customs duties has me baffled. During the process of preparing to list these items, I’ve wrangled all the other info required - inc all the necessary photographs. But the shipping and customs aspect of it has been unexpectedly challenging. ![]()
Has anyone here who has previously sold Naim Audio components, used a service which;
-
Is easy to navigate and calculate quotes?
-
Has the option of calculating import customs brokerage - depending on destination?
-
Is cost effective and reliable?
Many thanks in advance! ![]()
Dan
I have no experience selling to destinations abroad, sorry.
and Richard will probably delete these posts. ![]()
The eBay Global Shipping Program (GSP) and eBay International Shipping (eIS) are designed for these circumstances and work well IMO
