Is it possible to combine multi disc albums, showing as one or more albums on the Core into a single album by editing the metadata of the entries?
Any metadata editor software recommendations?
Using a Mac environment.
Thanks,

If in a Windows environement, I’m a huge fan (and user) of TagScanner.
I don’t imagine you can do it for the Core’s own rips, as you’d need to use the Naim app. But for your own additions in the download folder, which you can access via the Mac, it’s very easy. I use dbpoweramp and have merged and split albums many times. It just takes a while. You need to give each album the same name, so not CD1, CD2 etc and then change the track numbers of the second and subsequent albums so that they run say 1-20 rather than 1-11 and 1-9. You also change disc 1/1 and 1/2 to 1/1 on the second album.
You can do it in iTunes if you rip the CDs to the Mac rather than on the Core and then transfer the files into ‘Downloads’ on the Core. The process in iTunes is much as HH describes.
Or you can rip the CDs with the Core and then copy the files from the Music/MQ folder to the Downloads folder. Then you can delete the original rips using the Naim app and use whatever metadata editor you like runnning on a PC. You can treat the Core downloads folder like any folder and operate on its contents without moving things out and then back again. After you make any changes in the downloads folder, the Core will pick them up and index them within a couple of minutes.
Thanks all, I’ll give it a go with dBPowerAmp for a start as I already use it for format conversions.
I assume I don’t need Asset but can use the basic app?

If you want a UPnP server that is capable of displaying all the metadata fields you use, it’s possible that the Core will not meet your needs. In this case, Asset may be a good solution.
Asset is a upnp server. If you are streaming from the Core you don’t need Asset.
When I tried with dBPowerAmp, although I could see the music files on the Core, they are all greyed out, ie inaccessible to dBPiwerAmp?
Not sure what to try next……

Are you looking in the MQ folder? If so, take a look at David’s post above.
No, the files are in the Downloads folder after importing from a NAS………

David mentions editing on a PC so maybe he is referring to a Windows computer and a Mac may not work the same.
You can edit files in the downloads folder using a Mac or PC. They shouldn’t be locked or greyed out, although they will be in the Music/MQ folder.
Thinking about it, this is probably a security issue with the Mac, not being willing to connect to a device which doesn’t require any credentials. It is getting more tricky with win 11 PCs and maybe that is now true with Macs (I haven’t checked since the latest Mac firmware update).
On a slightly related topic there’s one CD album I’m struggling to get my Core to rip fully - the last 3 or 4 tracks will not properly rip despite 4 or more goes.
Is there something else I might try, please?
It’s ABBA ‘Gold’. I’m ripping everyone’s CDs so we can all then access the Core.
If you have access to a Mac/PC and some ripping software, eg 30 day free trial, see if you can rip it to the computer and then copy it to the Core’s Download folder……
Just a thought,

Might be worth washing the CD gently. I use washing up liquid and slightly warm water. Pay special attention to the outer half inch of the CD as this is where the last few tracks are (ie the opposite of a vinyl disc). Dry very carefully and if you polish it at all, do it radially, not along the direction of the tracks.
This approach has rescued for me several CDs that had been handled by less careful members of the family!
Thanks. I will try this evening. I’ll give an update.
As ever, the mysteries of Naim software. Full access RWED from my Mac this morning.
Sorted and thanks again.

After importing my music files, I am left with one apparent duplicate, one album entry plays correctly, the other appears to be a ghost, cover art and tracks show on the Core but nothing plays.
If I select Rebuild Music Database, is there any visual indication that this is actually taking place?
ATB, J
Yes. If you are looking at Albums in the Core home page of the app, you will see it build up slowly from a scary 0 to the full number.
