Could anyone tell me if the Uniti Core clocks/re-clocks the digital stream output on the BNC digital out connector?
@davidhendon perhaps…..

Sorry but I don’t know the answer to this. But I suspect not.
I use my Core via a digital BNC out into my 333 and I believe the Core is the master clock whereas if you use the network out via Ethernet then the 333 is the master because it reclocks the signal when it comes into the unit.
Although theoretically this should mean the Ethernet network feed should technically be superior for SQ, I find the Core feed into the 333 via BNC sounds better, to my ears.
This could be because the BNC feed goes via one cable, whereas the Ethernet feed is via two Ethernet cables and a switch in between, albeit an excellent one that does make an improvement. Now I haven’t tried the likes of Shunyata Sigmas etc because it will be prohibitively expensive. The main downside to using the Core as a direct feed is you lose some functionality and album art capability on the streamer screen.
The Core BNC output is S/PDIF which includes clock information.
Whether the receiving device uses that clock or reclocks would be device dependent (for example our nDAC reclocks as described in the naim white paper).
From Naim;
The Naim Uniti Core clocks the digital signal on its BNC S/PDIF output.The device is designed to provide high-quality digital output, employing refined digital clocking to minimize jitter on that BNC output.
Key details regarding the Uniti Core BNC output:
Which I think may be interpreted as ‘clocked on the way out of the Core and then clocked again on the way into the NSC222, as stated by JG in the original NC launch promotional presentations
