Just for a Thursday this is a bit of nonsense but let’s have some fun!
If you rip to Core, or anything else for that matter, in WAV we know that the metadata is all okay if you’re playing back within the Naim ecosystem, but if you upload any of your catalogue to a 3rd party device e.g. Astell Kern then all you see is Track……., but in FLAC all is well, provided you’ve edited at the time of rip.
However, when my Continental GT with Naim incorporated arrives will all be well with the metadata when I upload the WAV files?
From a technical perspective, lost data in WAV won’t magically appear. But you might need to consult the manual. If parked in you garage, it might just fetch everything if it comes off a Core.
I expect most people will use it for radio and streaming from their phone.
There’s a Bentley garage round the corner from me. A lot of Naim logos spied from the windows. I could ask… But as Naim don’t exist here I expect the Bentley mechanics won’t know.
For instance I have just discovered that for a budget outlay that just crosses into five figures GPB, one could buy either a pre owned Bentley Continental GT …..or…… a NEW pair of NAIM NAP 350 monoblock power amplifiers.
What a choice?
Does one pick a pre owned version of the most powerful and desirable British sports car in the world?
Or
Does one pick the most powerful and desirable new design NAIM amplifier in the world…..
So, faced with this choice, you’ve got to ask yourself one question:-
Its incomparable design is complemented by twenty high-performance speakers powered by 2,200 watts of power. These units are carefully placed throughout the passenger compartment. Note that additional reinforcement has been added around the doors and rear of the car to reduce speaker distortion.
