Covid and Coffee

I’m on my fifth cup already. I’m counting today, as yesterday I reckon the amount at about twenty. What about you?

I must be an amateur, only racked up 8 yesterday, but then again I was on something stronger after 6pm !

Normally I have several doubles at the farmers’ market on Saturdays. Sadly just the one today.

I was drinking a lot of coffee before, but realized it was tiring me at the end. Not good for the stomach.
At work I am drinking more tea. Not since 2 weeks however.

"For I have known them all already, known them all -
Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons,
I have measured out my life with coffee spoons;
I know the voices dying with a dying fall
Beneath the music from a farther room.
So how should I presume?

And I have known the eyes already, known them all -
The eyes that fix you in a formulated phrase,
And when I am formulated, sprawling on a pin,
When I am pinned and wriggling on the wall,
Then how should I begin
To spit out all the butt-ends of my days and ways?
And how should I presume?"

one thing i will report, there seems to be an abundance of tarts in the shops, as well as coffee.

oh, no. 8 btw.

It’s a downward spiral for sure. Only thing that tastes of anything after too much coffee is more coffee.
At the end of the day your artists palette resembles more a brick builders mortar holder.

Double to triple espresso here. Used to drink about 10 a day at work.

Being home for awhile, I limit it to 2/3 in the morning. Maybe 1 more in the early evening.
Bed around 1 and read for 2 hours…up at 8.

Speedfreak.

Going back to my first love, loose tea…

3 Americanos or espressos as per usual, all made by myself, in the afternoon a couple of mugs of tea. Water for the rest of the day, with the occasional glass of wine at dinner.

I guess. And feeling a bit miffed John Lewis has shut.

Well I expect Ant and Dec did their bit to cheer the nation up; I wonder if anyone won the lottery? Maybe they’ll decide to re-run a lot of those old politically incorrect comedies and series. I bet they’re ever so happy at Albert Square, as usual.

food porn. she used to look after me, the old dear. bought s@@@ now to enjoy with my coffee. That was may 2015, 8 months after dad died. June 2016 she had her first fall and broke her wrist. She did it again a few weeks before xmas 2016. Downhill all the way after that. I came to the conclusion while being interrogated by a young nurse at 2:am August 2018 at the General that facebook was a curse. Spent the night walking the streets. The Police were admirable, as always, under such circumstances. Never met a bad one. Me and my brother nearly killed each other the next morning in front of close family friends, we’re closer than we’ve ever been now.

Fortunately I don’t think the coffee plant can catch CoVID-19!

Damn fine looking cakes!
Thankfully my local coffee roaster is doing deliveries and even managing same day somehow. Supporting them online in the absence of face to face drinks and purchases at their kiosk.

Exceedingly glad I took advantage of an offer last year and got nearly 3kg of Lavazza Oro beans which I’m slowly getting through.

Faintly amused in these days of panic buying that there’s almost no tea or instant coffee available in the aisles but plenty of ‘real’ coffee. Reversion to British stereotype.

Coffee in the morning, but more tea during the day.

We always have PG Tips. I bought some Assam tea. At first the Assam seemed a bit boring, but I am warming up to it.

I was a coffee addict for many years, regularly on 20 cups a day. I eventually realised (with the loudly vocal help of my late wife) that when I reached 12 or so cups in a day mild caffeine poisoning made me feel tired, and my answer to that was to drink coffee to “wake me up”, thus exacerbating the problem. Knowing I had a physical caffeine addiction I decided to drop to a limit of 5 cups a day rather than cold turkey, so for about 12 years now I have made a litre of coffee (fresh ground beans, filter machine) in the morning, drunk that, then moved to soft drinks. I’ve stuck to that now, for me this isn’t a time to get more wired.

Working from home I drink a lot less coffee. Maybe 3 filter coffees a day. I only drink tea to be sociable with my girlfriend.
