Credit when it is due!

Just updated the NDS to 4.9, a faff to be sure, but it went smoothly and all is now running as it should. Thanks.

Yes, update arrived a few days earlier than the 14th too.

I updated my nds on Friday and it worked well. Thank you naim.

A follow up. My full spec LP12 has always shown my NDS a clean pair of heels…until now. The update has drawn them neck to neck. Well done Naim.

Further to my earlier post, just watched Leeds beat Salford and our TV outputs sound via optical to NDS then into main system & speakers. Thought upgrade brought lovely improvement to sound, commentator’s voice was better defined and improved spacing of sounds overall.

Not done any lengthy music listening yet (I only use UpNP from a NAS, no streaming) and occasional radio listening but few dip-tracks tested today sound really good to these ears. More deeper details heard, sound feels more solid and bit wider seperation of instruments. No high end harshness for me as others reported but I do use high end Shunyata ethernet cables which I really rate so they may help??

I miss the warm organic sound after the update. Now it also sounds more digital and leaner. I will go back to 4.8 and get the good Naim sound again. But I will miss the the radio.

Very much so, it’s far, far better. I’m listening to a lot less vinyl since the update, I rate it that highly.

It’s interesting people have so widely different views on how all these updates sound or not sound. All boxes. I wonder how much is placebo in all this. No offence.

None taken. If it wasn’t for the radio thing, I would never have done the update. I was very happy. I know what my lp12 sounds like ( bloody fantastic) and I know how my NDS used to compare. Its now much closer. All for free. I have around 2k lp’s and a lot less digital. Digital now ramping up.
