Happy days the ODIs with India start this Friday. Langer has laid down the law, apparently there’s always room for banter but he will not tolerate abuse.
How good is Steve Smith, 3rd fastest ODI 100.
Wildlife on the square today … Egyptian Geese apparently
Looks like a tidy score for SA.
I thought Archer was being rested …
Must get my head into gear for the cricket.
Whose the arm band for? Dean Jones?
One duck and some geese, let’s hope no turkeys …
Aussies rap up the ODIs against India with another impressive score batting first. Steve Smith man of the match again.
Impressive from the Aussies!
England have sealed the series in SA but I’m not convinced by their performances. It looks to me that SA are 3 or 4 players short of being a competitive team and we played down to their level.
Yes, I’m sure that if all the South africans who played for England yesterday were playing for SA, they (SA) would have a wonderful team.
And if it wasn’t for Archer and Morgan…
I was underwhelmed by the teams on show yesterday - if it’d wasn’t for the magnificent backdrop of the Hawequa mountains to the east of Paarl’s Bowland Park I would have dropped off to sleep. Is this what Long COVID feels like?
Ah, the blue sky and the wonderful backdrop of the mountains made for great TV , I must admit sometimes low scoring T20 matches can be more enthralling. The IPL got better as the pitches got slower.
The teams yesterday were a bit mismatched , England were in third gear and the South Africans under-powered.
The best South Africans were of course playing for England…
I did add the ground to one I would love to visit , you could almost smell the braais cooking
It did look fabulous on a horrible damp and grey day in Yorkshire.
Almost the equal of the above. I have actually been here, although no cricket was being played that day
We walked over those mountains and I did play cricket with a stick and a tennis ball in a village on the other side though. The perfect way to be good guests in India.
My best friend had COVID in the first wave, and is now suffering from long-COVID. Several times a week she messages me before 8pm to say she’s going to bed, if you have it you know it.
Apologies - I meant no offence. I try to humour in most situations, but understand that sometimes it misses the mark - sorry.
In these times I reminded of two friends; the first is a long term sufferer from ME, and the second is waiting for a diagnosis of what is causing him to loose feeling in his hands with extended bouts of lethargy.
The first is very stoic, helped in a great part by her faith; the second is just bewildered, as the doctors can’t pin down what’s causing his problems. What both have in common is that they have the support of family and friends; this support does not match effective remedies/ medication, but makes difficult situations bearable.
Sorry if I sounded offended or snappy, it wasn’t intended. I recognised the humour, I’m just conscious that long-COVID is new to all of us and thought I’d share my second-hand experience. And sympathies to both your friends, I suffered from glandular fever as a student and still remember how the fatigue drains you.
Where is it, guessing Northern India with the Himalayas as the backdrop?
Dharanshala, Himachal Pradesh. India. It has hosted international matches
Strong hitting by SA this evening. Above par score too.
I’m still holding out for an England win.
About time Mr. Roy got some runs then - he’s well overdue.
16 n.o. as I type this…encouraging.
I blame you HL!!
Oh, no! Curse of the commentator!
Exit stage left in a hurry.
