Make that 3-12, they’ll be playing golf tomorrow afternoon.
Test cricket. Just the best.
This is going to be a fine series.
Bruce
Well, that was a hot day in the field….
The things I do for my adopted country…!
Shocking performance from the Aussies, have to say….We left a touch early after India declared to beat the rush and were feeling a bit whacked….Not long home, turn the tv on, and 3 wickets have gone…! WTF !?
Marnus can be a real prat at times…

Can we start the next ashes series tomorrow?
Came across this photo online of 4 guys watching County Cricket at Worcester. 1987 I think. Mates of Botham.
I remember it being in the local news at the time.
Woah. Plenty of time for some of our new bowling cohort to break down. They may be all over 30 but Cummins/Starc/Hazlewood/Lyon seem to stay fit. We seem to breed stress fractures etc.
Listening to ABC on the radio early this am. The Australian media and public are worse than ours! Wholesale changes suggested, sack the coach etc. I think this will be a tight series.
In other news you have to feel for Jordan Cox. Picked to make his Test debut as a batsman/wicketkeeper in NZ he has broken his thunb in the nets. Pope will now 'keep through the series, which starts later this week. Probably saves his place!
All over red rover AU v IND.
I agree with you Bruce re England and injuries…that’s what I was saying some posts back – I’ll be amazed if Stokes stays together by Dec ‘25….
Yeah – you wouldn’t want to be Marnus with the Aussie press just now…! I only saw a bit of it that they showed and chatted about on the coverage this morning, but yeah, they don’t mince their words…!

Psychological warfare, or Trash Talk? It seems to have started.
Root has more 100s than either of them. More runs than either of them. A better ave than Kohli. (Plus seven times more test 100s than Lehmann). Must be deflection from Australia’s excellent performance this week. Lol.
I wondered who had rattled Lehmann’s cage when he was around at the start of the test….
Wonder if he’s circling around and has thoughts on his old job…!
TBF, I quite liked him when he was coach. Always thought it was unnecessary him quitting post SandpaperGate…

Never made a century in professional cricket. However hasn’t played many matches! Another ‘bold’ selection.
Bruce
Very bold. Two fingers up to County Cricket. He does look good at white ball.
Nice retort:
“My job is to score runs, right? To turn up every game and try to do all I can out in the middle. His job is to give his opinion and talk on the radio.”
SC
Like the idea of the Crowe-Thorpe trophy made from their own bats.
Thing is, arguably, or perhaps factually(!), there aren’t many red ball matches to play nowadays. Let’s hope he’s got more technique than the likes of Jason Roy and many others who have been ‘experimented with’.
Hard to believe that’s been that long.
I think all is not well in the Australian camp, makes for an interesting 2nd test.
You don’t get this sort of drama in T20.
That was incredibly sad, I watched him when he played for my local County (Worcestershire) in the 2012 season. I know he was popular with the team.
England look like they bat deep with Stokes at 7. We shall see.
Sir Alastair Cook
Ex-England captain on TNT Sports
"England have got a side with a guy who has never batted at three, batting at three. He doesn’t bat there for his county.
Then someone keeping wicket who is fourth choice for Surrey. So to be first choice for England, that doesn’t make any sense to me."
Yes, you may be right….
The Hazelwood press conference was a bit telling…
As you say, be interesting how the 2nd Test goes…I’d expect Australia will come out all guns blazing, unless of course there really are some rifts within….
How you going mate, all OK…?
SC
Yes, Mrs SC said to me last week it was 10 years…Couldn’t believe it…
So unfortunate.
