Crimp connectors for NACA5?

Does anyone have a shortlist of crimp connectors that fit NAC A5 cable?

I’ve given up with Chord after using their ‘cable doctor’ to recommend both the Ohmic and Universal crimp connectors as they do not actually accommodate the A5 cable with it being something like 11 AWG (?). I know it might be a stupid question but could not find it in the FAQs so rather than a trip to the post office for a third time to return connectors that do not fit I thought I’d ask the forum.

I do have a hydraulic crimp tool with die set.

As always, any advice appreciated, including a link to previous thread if I’ve missed it.

Can you be a bit more specific? Are you trying to crimp on Spade lugs to terminate the cable?

I am trying to fit banana plugs to the speaker end of the NAC A5 cables.

Are you in the USA ?

UK (Salisbury)

Soldering is best.

What tool are you intending to crimp with?

Just buy a set of deltron banana plugs for thicker cables,

I like to use Crimp Sleeves, Then the banana. Furutech and WBT both make the sleeves

Thanks, that the Deltron plug part no. 579-0100 & 579-0500?

Not sure, one will have a larger opening for cable, should tell you in description of product,
Not sure where your looking

I was looking at the Compass Audio UK site, I can see now they do a large sizing for cables up to 4.5mm diameter wire which corresponds to the NAC A5 sizing.

Yep, that will do it. I have one of these for making car cables.

For some connections I’ve added some solder too so no corrosion can form. Belt ‘n’ braces :grimacing:

Yes get them from Compass Audio on the bay.
They have large buckets and screw and crimp behind.
Defo big enough for A5. :+1:

Correct. I bought some of these a week or so back. 579-0100 is the black version, 579-0500 is red. They do not feature screw fittings. The large buckets are perfect for NACA5.

Deltron 579 plugs are for soldering. If you want to crimp you should choose a plug designed for it - for Deltrons that would be 584.
