I currently have an Olive 52/52PS into olive 135’s
Would an Olive Supercap be an upgrade on the 52PS?
Finally if I did this my 52PS would be spare however can
it be used with an n-dac or would it be redundant?

FYI the best 52 i ever heard had a 52PS, not a SCAP. My thought on it is the SCAP was made to be used across different products, but possibly to the detriment of a 52 which originally had the specifically designed and better psu. I don’t have any evidence of this but that’s my take on it.

Either 52PS or Supercap doesn’t an n-dac though. You may need an XPS or a 555PS to upgrade the power supply of n-dac.

It’s generally agreed that the Supercap is an “Upgrade” to the 52PS. I own both but have never tried the SC on the 52 (Currently powering Prefix). The 52PS can only be used with the 52. Although there may be some modified to power a Prefix out there. Doubt Naim will do this mod today though.

I have previously owned a 52 with 52ps. Did the comparison of a friend’s Supercap on the 52 and both of us preferred the 52ps.
