Wonderful news.

Your stubborn refusal to let this awful illness beat you must have paid a significant part in achieving this result, alongside the efforts of your medical team.

It couldn’t be more deserved & must be an example, providing hope & inspiration, for others finding themselves in a similar situation to you.

Big D one, big C nil.

I asked my consultant oncologist if she was happy. She touched the desk saying “touch wood”. She said I had reacted the best of all her patients to immunotherapy for anal cancer. She deals with colorectal cancers.

Considering I have stage 4 cancer and this time last year I was given less than 12 months to live, was assigned to a hospice and was given counselling to deal with end of life, this is nothing short of a miracle.

Needless to say my Consultant is delighted but there are no guarantees. I am still treated as Stage 4 cancer patient with end of life treatment.

The reality is the treatment has been a success and I am clear. They won’t put me in remission box. One day at a time.

Maybe that’s the best way to live. Understand and realise mortality. I am starting to make some plans for home improvements. I am continuing to work.

Time will tell, but the future is looking positive. Taken rest of the day off rather than working. Enjoying the Spring sunshine in the garden and fresh air!

Love your post. I have so much to live for and I never believed I was dying. Even in the darkest days I believed in life. I could not lie down and die. My consultant gave me the option and said you don’t have to have treatment. And that they can medicate me until I die.

F##k that! I said I want everything available. I have 4 children and the youngest at the time was 4 years old.

My now 5 year old son needs his Dad. I am single, but my children are everyrhing to me. I see them all regularly. I need to go on and lead a long life. Everything now is a bonus as far as I am concerned.

Haha! I am keeping the 500DR system my friend. I cannot afford an S1 set up. Even if I did it would be preamp only.

The 500DR is worth it. I believe it helped me with my cancer and was my salvation!

My system provided solace in dark times and I believe it provided salvation!

That’s wonderful news.
Stay strong and positive and in the end, when you will have closed this door you will have gained a new perspective in life, much more meaningful for you and your loved ones. I’ve been there 13 years ago.
All the best wishes for you. :flexed_biceps:

Oh dear - your poor neighbours may have a very loud Russian themed music evening ahead of them! And why not - great cause for celebration Dan - you must be over the moon with that feedback from the consultant. Rightly so.

Great news Dan, the new kind of drugs there now using are helping people live a lot longer than they would have just a few years ago. Hopefully this progress continues and all cancers become a treatable disease.

There’s a big difference between remission and cancer free. Here they won’t classify you as cured till you’ve been cancer free for at least 5 years.

Keep up your treatment and look after yourself and hopefully you’ll be around for years to come.

I’ve got an appointment with my oncologist next Tuesday and treatment the following Thursday, hopefully my results are as encouraging as yours.

Take care.
