Dan's thread

Aliens goes like “F**k we can’t fit two livers in this human body thing like we did with lungs and kidneys. Let’s add the regenerating feature”

They gave me this preload carbohydrate drink night before op which is meant to improve your recovery time after surgery. It reduces muscle loss and improves recovery time.

I am surprised at how quickly I am getting better.

Interesting, I suspect in your case you’d have bounced back anyway, and I think we’ve all seen that your physical fitness through work will have been a major factor both in dealing with the chemo and recovering from the ops.

So glad that things are moving in the right direction after a few weeks of uncertainty and disappointment due to rescheduling of procedures.

All vertebrates have livers and the liver regenerates. Any animal with a backbone can regenerate their liver.

So spiders, worms don’t have livers. I guess this is why slugs can’t survive drinking beer!

After the next op I hope it’s finished and you can get back to life. These interruptions are a pain.

I’ve got the news yesterday that part of my maintenance is a 5 hour chemo session every 3 months. I was hoping to have a few years without having to worry about it but unfortunately it won’t be the case.

Pretty much what you’d look like after a standard Saturday night out in Pevensey

Sorry to hear that Pete but I guess it’s good there’s an ongoing plan to keep things at bay even if that may mean a few weeks of hassle each year.

I am too sensitive with such things. When I saw that I felt bad. I am a little nature. « petite nature « in French.

You have quite succeeded, honestly. But it’s less important than your health. So I stood strong and could eat some soup.

Do you remember when you played in that scene, for real, jumping then going through a tree…and run after?

Google finds only Pevensey, not Pevesey. What is the meaning ? A kind of bronx area in UK?

If it keeps you living longer Pete, it has got to be worth it. I wish you luck with the ongoing treatments. I know it’s not what you wanted.

I don’t know what the future holds. All I can do is try and live the best life that I can. None of us know what the future holds.

Was talking to guy at hospital who has had cancer for 20 years and is having his bladder removed next week. He has blood cancer now. Started off as prostate cancer. He had times of remission and times when it came back.

I was told a year ago that I have upto 2 years to live. Now I hope I have alot longer. I will do everything I can to preserve my life at the moment.
