It’s a very understandable assumption that the power supply is ‘quieter’ in the wee small hours compared to everything switching on & off during the day.
In my case, & I doubt its the same for all, because I have a DC blocking filter & because of my observed voltage level rise coupled to the small increase in hum level, thats what I’ve concluded with my equipment.
