The audio settings are blanked out when I chose Digital BNC out on my NSS 333. Is it the same on ND5XS2 and NDX2 too say you want to use it as a streamer into a DAC?

If you have a Naim preamp with System Automation enabled you will have access to the preamp volume control in the app. Otherwise these is no volume control for the app to display if you don’t use variable volume, so the setting will not be available.
No system automation in the current system. I use NSS 333 mainly so not an issue since I can use the adjustable volume for analogue out. But when using NSS 333 as a streamer into NDS it would have been nice with variable digital out.
I’ve had few streamers in the past and all had the ability for variable digital out.
In the Naim world, analogue volume controls still rule. They will assume that you have a preamp with a volume control. Presumably you are using a non-Naim pre?
