Agree…SHF was place where I first learned about the difference between pressings and how to go about finding a particular issue. (It’s rowdy and spiky at times, sure, but I don’t overly mind that. Naim Forum would be similar, I think, if it weren’t run by Naim or had such a good leader in Richard.)
When I want to track down (sic) a specific pressing and mastering, I use SHF and Discogs in tandem. I’m still not sure of Discogs’ valuations though - my collection is apparently worth £££££, but a price asked is not necessarily a price paid.

Yeah, matrix is the most reliable method, I sold my collection when I moved to streaming (my own music, not a streaming service) for my rarer records knowing the matrix made a huge difference to the resale price
