Do you actually download digital music anymore?

While I like to have a CD if given the option, 90%+ of the music I download is hi res and/or not available for purchase on disc. And I love curating my own personal library of music .

I purchase CDs and stream from Tidal, I only download when I have the urge to listen to something that I cannot find in CD.

I like to rip and curate and keep in good order my music. And I like to open and read the booklets in the jewel cases, which I know is painful for some people out there.

There is always the matching thread in the naim forum…
I have upgraded to quobuz sublime yesterday.
The full stream database confuses me and streaming is only for scanning music. I also like to own it.
So I Download quite a bit.
I feel, that the sound of a locally stored wav file is a bit better, than a streamer flac.
But ?!
Is a cd rip (here hdx) better in sq, than a download from quobuz?

It depends.

Lol - that’s what I business partner always says.
On what?

If any of my CD rips or downloaded high-res files sound better than streaming Qobuz (via Roon) on my NDX2/XPSDR then I have yet to realize it. I buy records, but not digital files or CDs.
