Does anyone think that the price of Naim stuff nowadays is a bit expensive

And the first s/h Statement has appeared at auction…

Time to break into the pension fund and spend the kids’ inheritance…

Wow, not a bad price, if only they’d made it in Olive.

I wouldn’t put Rolex in the same class as Naim. Yes, I would like one, and I love the styling and build quality. But it doesn’t keep time any better than my Casio Protrek, which in addition gives me a tide graph, stopwatch, alarms etc.
Also, a Rolex requires quite frequent and expensive servicing. It’s altogether a different animal!

I would treat Rolex, and other expensive Swiss watches as jewelries, a cosmetic object, since a cheap electronic watch can outperform it (as a watch) anyway.

That’s something Rolex would encourage you to buy into.

My 30 something year old Submariner Date is still chugging on, having never been serviced … mind you, just to be on the safe side, it doesn’t go in the water anymore. :crossed_fingers:

Swimming is my sport!
Seriously, if I thought I could get 30 years out of one without having to have a service, I might be tempted…

Go on, just do it!

Using the analogy above, ownership has cost me something like 10p per day.

You know it makes sense.

Yes, I’d only be looking after it for the next generation…!

That’s spot on. I had a Musical Fidelity integrated amp for years. When it died I replaced it with a Nait XS2. Even with MF CD player it was a revelation, but now even better with ND5 XS2 as my source. I have been listening all day, and could listen all night if I had the chance. This is the difference between a perfectly adequate stereo and something that plays music. Short of hearing live music, which isn’t possible now, there’s nothing better.

This is a bit odd but this is what you get if you Google Naim Audio Aus.

I feel like I am already on holiday when I listen to my Naim. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I always wonder where olive colour originated from. Black is easier to integrate than olive to home decor.

Perhaps it came from BRG because Julian Vereker the founder was a racing driver?

Looks like someone (godaddy?) has already registered this domain name and perhaps they are trying to get naim buy it off them.

Godaddy indeed, from whois lookup:

Domain: naimaudio.com.au
Registrar: GoDaddy.com LLC trading as GoDaddy.com
Updated On: 2020-10-01

You think either Naim or the Aussie distributor would pick that up. I buy any domain with our company name I can.

Thanks @Suedkiez.

One thought: I’d rather spend a grand on Naim than waste a dollar on godaddy!

GoDaddy is a major registrar and DNS host. They almost certainly hold it for Naim. Our company uses GoDaddy also.

Hi indeed it is extremely expensive but it is high end equipment. Suppose if you can afford it go for it I’m retired worked hard all my life. And I’m certainly not going to be the guy in the cemetery who’s saved and hasn’t spent any. But if it’s a struggle to afford it then I can understand
