I’m always curious about Baker being cited as a great drummer. Buddy Rich had some illuminating comments in that regard.

You quoted three of my preferred drummers ever.
To be fair, most of those citations seemed to have come from Baker himself.
I’ve seen Ginger Baker playing live, he might have been an abnoxious person, but his playing was quite extraordinary.
They didn’t have double kicks back in the sixties, he mixed between the drum and hi-hat, with the other on the bass. Very jazzy in Cream and everything after.
When I saw him with Airforce it’s the only time I’ve seen people come back into the hall for the drum solos.
I’m the opposite. Your job as a drummer is not to solo. I say that as an ex drummer. If you want to solo in front of me then I’ll definitely be the guy leaving the room.
Two is probably essential if you’re a prog drummer or you want to impress the girlies in the audience.
If, on the others hand, you are Terry Bozzio, five seems to be the required number, as can be seen here:

… and he still has time to wonder what Punky is rehearsing today
I’m sure Louis Bellson would have been interested in your unusual version of musical history.
