Ok, I’ve slept on it now and although the DV XX-2A might be an interesting change, the K17DX is calling to me. It’s a pretty unique thing in engineering, aesthetic and audio terms and I think I would miss that little brass box at the end of my tonearm. I’ve never been dissatisfied with the D3 so why not continue with the DX? I think what I need to do is develop a regime where I regularly listen to vinyl like I used to. A vinyl cleaner might be a good start and a regular monthly trip to the used record shop. Thanks for all the input.

I’m also wondering about a re-tipped Troika. Might give this a go when the system changes later next year. Easy to sell on if required.
