Has anyone heard the new offerings from Dynavector, XV Prima MC and XV Ultima?
These are the next revision of the XV-1s and XV-1t. I wonder if these are just revisions or a real [r]evolution.
The U.S. importer/distributor is local to me and my dealer. I hope to ask him sometime what he thinks. I have a XV-1s that he sent back to Japan for a rebuild, that I got back early 2025. I have less than 500 hrs on it still. It’s not my primary stereo cartridge.

I am in the process of putting some playing time on a new Prima on my LP 12. So far it is very promising, but I prefer to judge cartridges after at least a little break in on them. Like many LP 12 fans who bundle work on their tables, this was not the only component I had changed by my friends at Accent on Music, so it will be difficult for me to assign a precise estimation of the sound of the new Prima. I’ll leave you with one comment made by my friends at Accent, who have known me now for over thirty years. Alma said, and I am paraphrasing, “your Te Katora Rua sounded so good on your table, only an idiot would have changed anything.” An idiot or an audiophile. Guilty on all counts, your honor.

Interesting. Dynavector was originally marketed in the USA under the trade name “Ultimo” and was a very early version of the 10x.
