I didn’t: just commenting on people’s impressions posted here.
I look forward to hearing how you find it changes as it settles in…
The old one ain’t going back, very happy with the EE8
It never ends.
I know, I’ll need a second one for the media room and Core downstairs now…
Then you’ll need to rewire the network in the house and while you’re at it you should also get a separate power supply.
I’m not quite that anal… anyway, I’m in the power conditioner camp remember
…aarrgghhh !
Well, that’s it ! the rest of the system is simply a waste of time. Simply can’t believe you actually bother to listen to it !
(couldn’t find the tongue in cheek imoge)
Is there any particular plug in order 1 to 7 on the outputs?
I use 7 - A) because it was nearest to me B) I think Chord recommend it.
C) I tried other ports…and heard no difference!
Port 7 is used here, too.
I’ve had to use Port 6 as I use a Chord Shawline from the wall socket to the EE8. And would you believe it, the port spacing on the EE8 is too close for using the neighbouring port with a Shawline cable!!!
That can happen when you don’t design your own product.
I was thinking off using another EE8 in my media room, but I need all 7 ports and I’ve 2 Shawlines there - to the Nova and the Core…
Mike, what’s your thoughts on the EE. John is rating then highly, and suggesting i should think about getting one
Paul
Hi Paul,
I’m not sure how it would compare to your Cisco 2960, others might comment on that. In my main system I replaced an Allied Tellis switch with the EE8 and I’m very pleased with the result - more clean and expansive with more detail and better timing. I’m getting a second one for the media room.
Another benefit is the build quality and compactness, if space and aesthetics is a factor for you.
Cheers, Mike.
Thats amazing
“Possibly, personally I have never heard EtherRegen. EE seems well worth trying.”
Given the price of these components and the debates about their respective merits, are there any other A-B comparisons available to help decide a little more objectively which camp, if any, to opt into?
Peter
Indeed, but cheaper than a black box upgrade. Indeed the EE8 is smaller than the switch it replaced!
