Sorry, that wasn’t the intention but I’m not going to listen for five minutes and jump to a conclusion I then find to be erroneous. These things take time, as The Smiths would say. And as others have so rightly said, nobody’s opinion holds more value than anyone else’s. As to mine, what difference does it make? It makes none.

Indeed Nigel, but as FR says, if you start to sense a consensus then it starts to indicate something worth considering.
I too only trust my own ears and as I have said many times, I always try before I buy, something that is possible with the EE8.
BTW, many on here do indeed listen to your opinions.
I think HH just wants to be diplomatic! There is no diff between the two from what HH has been saying, or the new one is worse.

I really hope this doesn’t include me Nigel. I’m really sorry if you feel it does because that’s just not me. I’ve always valued yours and anyone else’e advice given here. I also try my best to give back when i can.
I’ve never made one snide remark, directly or indirectly about any member on this forum since i joined it back in September 2005. Never, not once. Most are here to talk about this hobby and their passion can override things. I’m a bit direct in my opinions and i’m not very well educated enough to express my views in a neutral way, which could be translated into something else, again i apologise for that, but i still have a pair of ears and a passion for this hobby of ours. What i don’t like is being told how to listen. I hope this has cleared things up. Enjoy the switch.

So, because you felt my experience of my system in my home through my ears translated to poor advice it’s fine to make flippant comments about my system, but somehow that doesn’t get in the way of useful discussion.

Likewise Nigel. I really enjoyed my visit to yours and sharing our knowledge, listening to some great music and exchanging our opinions. Oh and hearing a full Naim system again! It has had me hankering after a pair of Allaes ever since, though not quite in the same league as your SL2s of course. Enjoy your day.
