English Electric 8Switch

I choose C . However I do have the EE8 switch and left it in just before the ND555 even though I couldn’t convince myself there was a difference, just in case!

That’s odd, I’ve the Chord C-stream from my dealer, and I see the black dots at both ends look the same to me, one is not darker than the other.

Mine is just slightly darker than the other one. Not the greatest usability that’s for sure

Well, just finishing marking the last of 75 essays over the past few days.

Then had a brisk walk over the fields under a banana moon.

Now enjoying a glass of Sauvignon blanc, and a wee bit of Jarrett, Zappa, Miles et al…

I doubt that this pesky switch is going back.

Stereo sounds best ever tonight!

Nice to hear another nDAC user that’s satisfied. It sounds even better with a nice Red! Enjoy listening this evening.

Cheers Marcusman.

I’m a happy bunny right now.

Like you and @IvdZ the last few tweaks I’ve done have really brought the system into a lovely place - that’s the Hydra, the Chord din cable and the Ee8 too, I think.

I’m with you. I’m in a good place right now as well. Of course I’m sure it’ll change, but the last month or so has been bliss. Even Roon 1.8 seems to be sounding just a tad bit better. (Nice playlist you have queued up)

Ah, lovely part of the continent.

Is that where Hendrix was from?

I once rode down the west coast on a motorbike from the north of Alaska to Carmel, past Seattle.

Ok, that’s it, my last track for tonight.

He sure is. A little before my time but man could be play. Alaska is amazing during the summer months especially if you like outdoor activities. Vancouver is also really close. I feel blessed to live here. Like most, good music is getting me through Covid and dreaming of traveling once again

Yup, we got the ferry from Haines to the north tip of Vancouver Island, then another ferry from the south of the island onto the mainland, then I almost bought it on the Pacific Coast Highway.

But In the end it was all ok.

Pretty amazing that we can still hear a live performance from 66 years ago, now that all the players, buddy rich, Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie et al are all pushing up daisies, and get even more sense of being there, even closer to the music than last time.

If you meet an unfeasibly tall Brit who works for Microsoft, he might just be David Hobbs-Mallyon, who haunted these pages for a long time. If you do meet him DO NOT ACCEPT ANY MUSIC RECOMMENDATIONS, as it’ll be odds on that it’d be Xenakis played at amp-breaking levels.

In his favour is the fact that he’s a thoroughly good egg. He has also the commendation of having jump started another Forumites car using NACA5!

Can you post that cover album ? I don’t know that one. I have the 4 albums of Billy Cobham drums and voices, with Nicolosi and like them a lot.

Thanks, so not another album.

Am I in ‘Streaming Audio’ or the ‘Music Room’?

Very Confused, of Chesham.

Streaming Audio ?, Music Room ? Geography ? (aka JimDog above)

All very confusing.

At least the basic argument (squabble to my mind) was reasonably clear Physics v Listening v A sensible mix of both. And entertaining to watch !!

But yes, we’ve driven from Alaska, through The Yukon, BC, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oregon down to California and back. We’ve included Haines, Skagway, Hyder and Juneau. Plus the Port Hardy to Prince Rupert Ferry after a week on the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island.

That plus the Rockie Mountains is a hard act to follow and we miss it terribly, and that part of our family who live there.

I don’t subscribe to the “i’ve heard the stupendous improvement, and I must be right because Joe Bloggs and and 99 others agree with me” brigade. And I don’t subscribe to the “if you can’t measure it, it can’t exist” brigade, nor the “if it measures better, it must be better” brigade.

If I can try it, and it sounds better, i’ll buy it. If there’s a technical difference, and the manufacturer outlines it, ok, that’s interesting, but the proof of the pudding is in the listenning.
