Ethernet cables - YOUR LISTENING Shooutout Summary

There is no Sigma and Sigma V2. There is only Sigma and Sigma-X. Some added V2 to Sigma since they updated the full range Sigma to V2. But the ethernet cable is the same all the way from Sigma to Sigma-X.

“There really was only one iteration of the Sigma Ethernet cable, so no V2.”

Are these lovely speaker cables lying directly on the powerchords ?

What Cisco switch do you have. I have a blue one somewhere. And neet 1008 is not too expensive to try. Can also try with diamond.
Is your core connected to Cisco? (Think I have already asked that..-sorry)

Correct, it’s the small 8 port blue one. The 1008 is definitely very special in that location but I would say Vodka and 1008 are quite similar, so it might work. I loaned a mate (500 system/s800’s) my 1008 after he bought a cheap blue Cisco. He ordered one the following day! Yes, Core runs to Cisco.

I’m going to walk back my previous comments about the Neotech 1008. I actually think the copper 3008 is the better cable. More warmer and more natural. For my system anyway….

I have a question for those who have tried it, is there a clear upgrade on ethernet cables between Chord Music to sarum t

Hi Meni, I have both and the Music is, I’m afraid, quite a lot better. But you knew that already

My SFP DAC cable conversion:

I have tried the amphenol DAC but the 10 G SFP+ did not work with the Cisco 2690CX. So i ordered a 1 GB Version by Gtek from Amazon, for 13 euros. I now link my roon server with Ansuz A2 to the Cisco and the Cisco with the DAC cable to the Buffalo GS2016 through the SFP ports. After 2 days the sound is soooo good. I also used SFP DAC cable to replace the Optic fibre SFP connection within the AS8 pro switch. That also brought much benefi. The AS8 pro is connected through a 25m fibre optic connection to the Buffalo. That long fibreoptic cannot be replaced with SFP DAC cable unfortunately.

Overall these two 13 Euro cables were the absolutely very best investment i made in a long time. This eliminated much of the sibilance and harshness of some tracks, everthing sounds more organic and spacious. Amazing!

Thank for the tip!

Downside is, my plan to eliminate the Cisco switch in order to simplify the streaming side had to be buried

May be has to do with the fact that a 1GB base DAC cable connection practically does not consume any power (<0.1 W), unlike optical SFP oder ethernet port.
