It was the top end for me too.
I had lent my SmoothLAN to friends for almost four months last summer.
As I wrote earlier,.when I got it back it was only on the fifth day that it delivered 100%.
And it was exactly as you describe,.it was in the âtop endâ that it felt limited.
BUT,.on the fifth day it played fantastic again .
Currently Iâm where this guy was. I have 58 days of trial left so no hurry I assume my Ansuz D2 Powerswitch and active D2 ethernet cable might do everything I need feeding my turbo boosted Lindemann Bridge II but things might change so weâll see.
My friend who is a dealer for Stack Audio in Sweden,.and the one who modified your LimetreeâŚ
They are evaluating the SmoothLAN Regenerator that I bought right now.
It arrived last Friday,.so they can have it there for a few weeks and evaluate it in different systems.
An early impression from last Saturday,.when it is brand new and not âburned inâ isâŚ
That the SmoothLAN Regenerator delivered excellently well,.with the usual SmoothLAN between the Regenerator and the streamer.
BUT,.much remains to be done,so donât take this as a definitive truth, just a first reflection.
Just an early impression from last Saturday, when it is brand new and not âburned inâ.
Donât forget that the property of a lan filter exerces frame shape curved latencies which tend to depolarise infra laser inner modulations creating infra waves molecular segments. According Bonn theories, timing of data packets delivery may be desynchronised at infinitesimal levels, which creates fragmented data polorarisation.
Iâve been an early adopter of the Stack Audio SmoothLAN and have been using both of mine in the incorrect direction the entire time Iâve owned them. Got home late from work, but have flipped both and will let them play and settle-in over the next few days.
I donât think it has a direction. Itâs the same both ways.
The information you get with it certainly doesnât say any specific direction.
I certainly wouldnât worry
Have you noted what I previously wrote above before you speak.?
You THINK,.I KNOWâŚ
I hope you donât think,.that I (and some friends) havenât listened and compared extremely much before giving advice and tips here.
⢠AND,.as you see above,Josh (SA) and I have also had Interesting conversations about this.
⢠BUT,.it is not certain that everyone will perceive the difference, but it exists.
BECAUSE,.as I wrote below
ExactlyâŚâŚ
The difference is very very small,.but it is audible in my headphone-system which is really high resolution.
See picture for clarityâŚ
A conclusion Dunc:
I assume you havenât tested and compared yourself when you writeâŚâBELIEVEâ.
Then it is,.in my opinion, strange to question those who have actually tested and compared.
This is what the cable/connector looks like on the SmoothLANs that are being delivered today.
This is exactly the one you have @Blackbird.
Josh contacted me about another matter today,.but I forgot to ask about this cable.
It may be that the cable is the same,.but the connector is different.
The picture of the cable below comes from the Swedish dealer of Stack Audio.
What you experience often happens to filters etc.
And itâs good to judge them not just on a initial different sound.
Have you tried/compared others too?
Just merely stating that it hasnât got a direction marked on it from the manufacturer.
I would very much take it they know the product very well as they designed and make it. So as no direction indicated or in the instructions, then really you can take it that it doesnât matter which way round you use it.
If you prefer it one way then fine rock on.
