Just ordered a customer return T8 from Peter Tyson at £900, interest free for 12 months. Figured I wasn’t going to get better than that.
I’ll then see how it measures up vs. the Aries G1.1. Usability and SQ wise.

I just bought the new T10 based on demos of the T8 
I have only had it at home for a few days.
Obviously I liked the T8. But if you intend to use the DSP functions you should check the sample-rate limitations. With DSP I think everything is resampled o 48kHz.
The limitations with evotune (room-correction) is more acceptable. The DSP is bypassed but max upsampling is set to 192kHz. I never tried any of those functions so I have no idea how this affected sound.
The T10 has 8-core processor instead of 4-core and doubles the system RAM to 8k and has evotune Pro room-correction with 20 bands instead of 10 and no limitation on upsampling (I think). I haven’t had time to check the DSP (not something I would use).
The T10 has cleaner outputs so I could turn off the PLL in the DAC and rely on the low jitter from T10. And the I2S also sounded clearly better than USB and the Pink Faun I2S Ultra cable sounds better than the AQ Vodka I2S cable. And for the first time I prefer upsampling with the R2R DAC (x16, max 768kHz). So they obviously cleaned up the outputs.
With both the T8 and T10 using local file storage sound better using the JPLAY for iOS controller. But if I didn’t already own the JPLAY I don’t think I would bother.
So is the T10 worth it over the T8? With my (very limited) experience so far I would say it depends on the DAC and your digital cabling. My DAC is R2R with no digital filtering and no internal upsampling so having the T10 go x16 moves aliasing out of range and its soft analog filtering well above the audible range.

Sort of. The Ifi Zen Stream is a licensed Volumio device using the Volumio OS on Ifi hardware. Purely from a user experience perspective, I like the Volumio interface a lot. Certainly any replacement of my main Naim streamer would likely focus on a dedicated transport and a Volumio would be high on my consideration list.
Specifically what do I like?
For me the experience has been largely positive. That said I find the TEAC streamer a reasonable compromise. It relies on an app, but a very responsive one. But can at least also bypass UPnP to talk direct to file systems. The latest incarnation is a transport only.
For me, the future really needs to do away with the UPnP server for access to the local library and the need for an actual app. At a minimum, the next solution should address one of those but ideally both.
Well, as Sod’s Law would have it, I have just discovered a few days ago how to get the Auralic Lightning app back on my ipad now via iMazing on the PC. So all is well on that front.
I’ll continue to use Qobuz Connect from the Q app but can also play music from network again now. However, now starting to lose radio stations, Auralic doesn’t have it’s own radio service like Naim or Wiim and I know sooner or later the app functionality will likely degrade further.
So, while all is well for now, I had that T8/T10 itch to scratch and when I saw that PT exdem/return price I figured it’s hard to lose here…Will be disappointed if it’s much behind the Aries SQ wise but will see!
Will run them side by side as well as swapping cables in/out to match (the Atlas power and coax cables lift the Aries some, I imagine they’ll do the same for the T8), plus I can give usb option a go.
Touchscreen will be a bonus for others in the house, internal nvme storage the same for all of us.

I’ve no idea what the ‘nearly new’ bit is about, the box has never been opened and the unit is brand spankers…

How are you getting on with the T8?
OK, trouble is I have not had a good extended listening session. It genuinely sounds decent, I’m certainly not unhappy with it, however I didn’t hit play and think ‘Wow!’ (As I did with the Auralic. But then Auralic stuff does sound pretty special.)
Couple of software glitches crop up periodically too, primarily linked with Qobuz.
I like the unit screen. I know many don’t but it’s nice just to press on, press preferred radio station or whatever and have done with it, without having to faff about with pad or phone.
I certainly don’t intend sending it back, it sounds pretty decent so far through the Michi DAC (but then everything does) and is high on usability and convenience.
