Maybe MBS could just go away and be replaced by someone wiser and more competent also?
He’s welcome to do some gardening in my place. I think he likes these kind of punishments to others too.
It will be very embarrassing if an F1 race weekend has to be cancelled because the FIA have sacked everyone able, qualified and available to be the Race Director. A year ago this would have been an unthinkable possibility, now it is a possible future scenario.
Interesting that his link to McLaren is not mentioned in the main article.
It is - in the caption to the picture of him.
That’s why I said “main article”.
Fair enough. I was just confused because I picked up the McLaren connection when I was reading it so I viewed the picture as part of the main article. No big deal.
Is it true they are volunteers with no pay?
Motorsport relies on many volunteers and the Race Stewards are just a few of the volunteers. Most if not all the marshalls at motorsport events are volunteers. The Race Director is a paid position as are the full-time positions in the FIA. The President of the FIA is not a paid position, he will though get expenses and MBS is reportedly fairly wealthy.
So Max is on pole for a change. Will see is the set up holds for tomorrow’s longer race.
Stewards swap Max and George around on the grid. Probably fairs.
why?
Impeding. But it was not in eithers fast lap, so only one position instead of the usual three. One could wonder why a penalty at all if not in a fast lap, but I guess the rules as written don’t make a distinction.
hmmmmm…
Bizarre change in performance of Max’s car across the weekend. Did someone make a discrete quick call to Adrian?!! Almost feels like someone has a remote control somewhere and just turned the performance up! Incredible to watch these cars’ levels of grip when they hit the sweet spot - mind boggling stuff. MV’s final lap in particular almost looked AI generated! Should be a good race and swapping MV & GR by one place on the grid hopefully will be rather academic in terms of race outcome.

I figure Red Bull trying out the new front wing which they’ve been holding back for some time now and may or may not be deemed legal.
Perhaps they figured they’ve won the drivers, they won’t win the constructors. So after sprint race showed lack of pace, new wing comes on, it might be deemed too flexible but they’ve decided to give it a try with nothing to lose…
Just a theory. They’re clever like that.
What a w.nky race.
Stupid circuit.
Muppet race director/stewards should take a good look at themselves in the mirror. Before Bottas runs over it.
Total f’*k up.!
absolute joke of a race. i really don’t care who wins but F1 should be embarrassed and ashamed. F1 needs a new hierarachy, the current team is very questionable.
