Unfortunately, not sure it was down to SKY. Lots of stuff missed by the on site camera/production team yesterday, time and again they’d show something in the entry to a corner but not the exit!
On ours they were showing 2nd and 3rd but showed Oscar crossing the line in a small box top left of screen. ( Plenty big enough, Lol.)
I must admit I was also surprised that they didn’t have Oscar crossing the main picture and the continuing George and Lando duel in the small box. I feel it was wrong doing it this way round. If Lando had passed George they could have shown this full screen as a replay. For the fans, teams and sponsors, it is important to see the winner crossing the finish line as the flag is being waved.
Agreed. I’ve watched F1 for years, and this is the first time I think it has happened. Should have been handled differently like you suggested.
Might be wrong, but I think they showed Oscar in a small window top right crossing the line
I was thinking current grumblings about being in dirty air seem to mean the whole design of these ground effect cars are not really helping the show by being able to drive closer
Bahrain Sovereign Wealth Fund, in their home Grand Prix, are the ones who should be really p-doff being the owners of the McLaren team.
That’s exactly what we got, Oscar in a small window while the main picture was 2nd and 3rd. Poor form imo and I have a sneaky suspicion that if it was Lando or Russell it wouldn’t have happened that way.
They probably thought no one would be awake in Australia to watch it…
On the contrary we’re used to having F1 (plus a lot of other sport) on at inconvenient times.

Excited for this weekend’s GP. Hoping Norris wins and rediscovers his mojo. Early days, but Piastri appears to have improved both his qualifying pace and race/tyre management, to the extent he now looks equal to Norris, or dare I say, maybe a touch faster. Fascinating season ahead.
While on the surface this appears to be the case, I’m not so sure this actually is the case. Currently there are certain characteristics of the MCL39 that Lando is struggling with that aren’t impacting Oscar the same way, due to different driving styles. I believe Lando still has Oscar beat on raw pace & race pace, but if we actually get to see this will depend if he can adapt to this years car (or they make tweaks so the car is more to his liking).
Norris has been a little disappointing this season so far. He is making silly mistakes that a champion would not make.
There is still plenty of time for him to turn things around though. I would very much like a competitive fight between him and Piastri all through the season.
The Dutch commentators said that as they see it, Norris is still faster if he manages to string a clean lap together. He will often make a little mistake in at least one of the sectors and then Piastri, who’s slightly slower but more consistent, has him beat.
There are some thoughts the geometry in this years suspension is causing some braking/cornering grip feel, which is causing Lando issues & why he is having problems when pushing the car to the limits.
Tbf, I wouldn’t really mind if Lando, Oscar or George won. ‘cept it won’t be George!
Reading the usual motor sport websites, it seems that all they want to write about is speculation about what Max might do next year. The endless speculation is getting somewhat tedious. I think there is now a tendency for journalists to throw an idea into the ring as a rumour in the hope that eventually one will be right and they can then say I told you so, at the same time ignoring all the ideals they shared that were spurious.
Interesting stat on Sky just now that George is only driver to be in top 5 every single session in F1 this season.
Arvid Lindblad wins the F2 sprint. Youngest ever F2 winner after similar in F3 last year.
Something tells me he’s going to be a thing in F1 soon…
