Fanzine true labour of Love

I don’t want to bore anyone but for many years the fanzines / magazines of my favorite bands have kept me company and given me many beautiful emotions. Maybe others have similar memories?
I’m referring to TIGHT BUT LOOSE (Led Zeppelin Magazine) and FREE APPRECIATION SOCIETY (All things FREE. Paul Kossoff, Paul Rodgers, Andy Fraser, Simon Kirke et all)

Thanks to all !

Back in the 80’s I was a member of the Deep Purple Appreciation Society, still run by Simon Robinson, and he produced the Stargazer fanzine every few months, packed with info and reviews. It was later renamed to Darker Than Blaue, with higher production values;

I still get emails from DPAS but the magazine ceased production years ago.

Thanks for your memories ! So did you attend any DEEP PURPLE show played between 1968 and 1976 ? Where and when exactly ? Thanks again

Sadly, I was born 5 years too late. In fact I have only ever seen them once, on the Abandon tour in Birmingham. Saw Rainbow and Gillan back in the day.

Thanks for your memories ! Exactly when and where did you saw RAINBOW in concert ? Thanks again

It was at Bingley Hall, Stafford in 1980. They were promoting Difficult to Cure. Volume was excessive I recall. This was only my second ever gig; first was UFO at Civic Hall, Wolverhampton just after Schenker quit the band.

Deep Purple in Manchester, sometime between September 1972 & June 1975, and would have been during “term times”.

So, probably 19th February 1973 at the Free Trade Hall.
