Favourite Naim Gear

Any Aromatic fans out there willing to throw their hats in the ring?

More seriously, the (original) ARO is lovely, and gets my vote. (And if its name does stand for ‘Analogue Rules OK’, I’ll go along with that.)

OK, I suppose it is stating the bleedin’ obvious naming 500 series kit. Indeed I never believed I would own such kit, and felt is was a serious case of diminishing returns. That was until it was installed in my home.

Yes, I have a power supply on my list. Like the other 500 series kit, I always felt this PS was an extravagance I could do without. Then I stuck one on my NDS. Quite amazing really. I am sure, even though it can’t be used with any other PS, it would do even more for the ND555, if compared to a lesser PS.

Honourable mention goes to Nait5si ( or XS3, very hard to call ). It has the gist of Naim sound

Anything olive. For me it’s peak Naim. Value, boogie, servicing etc. OK I do have a ndx5xs2. But into olive it sings.

Mine was the 272, followed by everything I have now. Although I do have a soft spot for my first CD player think it was a CDI.
